French bones with a modern skin - Parisian apartment romance in everyday living
INTRO
How modern French is created
Traditional French carving, gilding and columns often feel heavy in today is apartment layouts. Modern French keeps the French bones - the mullion-framed door, arches, corner mouldings, symmetry - but scales them down and halves the ornament so it fits ordinary ceiling heights and daily life.
CMITAL S2 French lacquer series is the workhorse for this style: mullion door frames 50-60 mm wide with an 8 mm recess, finished in satin lacquer - clean white from a distance, with relief-like depth up close.
TRAITS
Style traits
- Mullion and arched doors with fixed modules for frame width and recess depth
- Satin lacquer with a soft three-tenths sheen that never glares
- Carved cornice mouldings at 60/80 mm; the cabinet top edge carries French ceremony
- Dado moulding at 900-1000 mm to divide the wainscot
- Cream white base with Morandi accents - never out of date
