Engineered Stone
Quartz / sintered stone — first choice for counters and islands
Quartz and sintered stone are the two most common engineered stones: quartz is hard and stain-resistant, ideal for kitchen counters; sintered stone comes in large thin slabs for walls and floors, often used on islands, TV walls and dining tables. A 45-degree bevel or thickened edge on the counter front is the most direct way to add a premium feel.
MATERIAL 02
Natural Stone
Marble / exotic stone as the feature wall focal point
Marble and luxury stone are natural one-offs with unrepeatable veining, ideal as a feature-wall focal point, entryway accent or island front. For large areas, add a backing mesh and reinforcement and avoid structurally weak points; lay out the veining before installation or the pattern will drift.
MATERIAL 03
Glass
Reeded / wired / low-iron glass for see-through partitions
Fluted glass keeps partitions and cabinet doors transparent while hiding clutter; wired glass has a built-in metallic feel; low-iron glass has no green edge and suits display cabinets and wine rack shelves. Pair glass doors with slim aluminum or wood frames - the slimmer the frame, the more refined.
MATERIAL 04
Leather
Top-grain leather / microfibre, soft and hard upholstered panels
Top-grain leather and microfiber are the two paths for upholstered panels: the former ages well with natural grain, the latter is wear-resistant and easy to maintain. Common spots are headboards, dining chair backs and cabinet door inlays; flat hard panels and sculpted soft panels alternate to create depth.
MATERIAL 05
Fabric
High-density weave / bouclé for upholstered backdrops
High-precision weave and fleece are the two main upholstery fabrics: high-precision is fine and crisp for large hard-panel areas, while fleece is fluffy and warm for bedroom accents. Fabric biggest benefit is sound absorption and softer light, most noticeable on headboards and sofa walls.
MATERIAL 06
Metal
Brushed brass / champagne gold accents
Brushed brass, champagne gold and matte black metal parts are key to finishing: skirting, door frames, cabinet inlays and handles immediately raise the sense of precision when used well. Use metal lines sparingly to outline shapes rather than covering large areas.
MATERIAL 07
Textured panel
3D relief / wave panels for wall depth
3D relief and wave panels add texture to flat walls and suit headboards, entryways and corridors as feature surfaces. Textured panels are most vulnerable to mismatched seams and patterns, so they must be ordered as a full-wall layout, with seams placed where light transitions.
MATERIAL 08
Special-effect materials
Microcement / artistic paint for an avant-garde feel
Microcement and artistic coatings achieve a seamless look: continuous, usable on walls and floors, and paired with hidden skirting for a minimal finish. They demand high workmanship, so choose a maker with physical samples and completed projects.
