Functional zones
Litter tray below with at least 300 mm clear height so the cat can turn around, food bins and supplies at mid height, display or storage above.
Ventilation and odor removal
The litter area must have ventilation holes or slatted doors, and a socket can be provided inside for an air purifier or odour unit.
In use
Face the opening towards a quieter passage so the cat feels safe, and use sliding or lift-up doors so the passage is not blocked.

- Waterproof the floor in the litter area for easy hosing down
- Provide a night-time motion light
- Store food in sealed containers against moisture and insects
- Fix cabinetry to the wall so pets cannot knock it over
